Semantics Trans Pvt. Ltd. ("we", "our", "us") operates the website at semanticstrans.com (the "Site"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information. We are committed to handling your data responsibly and in compliance with applicable privacy laws, including India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 (DPDP Act) and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
1. Information We Collect
a. Information you provide directly
When you submit a quote request, contact us, or apply to join our translator network, we collect the information you enter in those forms. This may include your name, email address, phone number, organisation, language pair, and any message or document you choose to share. This data is stored securely in our database and used solely to respond to your enquiry or process your application.
b. Analytics data (cookies)
If you consent to cookies, we use Google Analytics (GA4) to collect anonymised usage data pages visited, time on page, general geographic region, and device type. This data does not identify you personally. Google Analytics sets cookies on your device to track these sessions. We do not load Google Analytics unless you explicitly accept cookies.
2. How We Use Your Data
- Form submissions to respond to translation quote requests, contact enquiries, and translator applications.
- Analytics to understand how visitors use the Site so we can improve its content and usability. Only collected with your consent.
- We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

4. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party infrastructure to operate the Site:
- Vercel hosts the frontend. Vercel may log request metadata (IP addresses, headers) for security and performance purposes. See Vercel's Privacy Policy.
- Render hosts our backend API. See Render's Privacy Policy.
- MongoDB Atlas stores form submission data. Hosted in the Mumbai (ap-south-1) region. See MongoDB's Privacy Policy.
- Google Analytics used only with your consent. Google may process anonymised analytics data on servers outside India. See Google's Privacy Policy.
5. Data Retention
Form submission data (quote requests, contact messages, and translator applications) is retained for as long as necessary to fulfil the purpose for which it was submitted typically up to 2 years after which it is deleted. Google Analytics data is retained for 14 months by default (configurable in our GA4 property settings). Your cookie preference is stored locally in your browser until you clear it or change it via the button above.
6. Your Rights
Under applicable privacy laws (including India's DPDP Act and the GDPR where applicable), you have the right to:
- Access request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction ask us to correct inaccurate information.
- Deletion request that we delete your personal data.
- Withdraw consent withdraw your cookie consent at any time using the button in Section 3 above.
- Complaint lodge a complaint with a relevant data protection authority if you believe your rights have been violated.

7. Children's Privacy
The Site is not directed at children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you believe a minor has submitted personal data through our Site, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
